Samsung STAR Program In INDIA To Manage E-Waste

Samsung India has launched a new initiative called as the Star program or Samsung Takeback and Recycle Program. This program to promote e-waste recycling in India. The initiative will be rolled out nationally in phases where consumers will be able to bring their any Samsung product for recycling. Consumers will be able to dispose their product at 235 locations in 20 cities or can avail the product collection facility for a nominal fee.
As announced at SamsungHub, "As a responsible corporate citizen, environmental protection is one of our key priorities. Beyond environmentally friendly products and manufacturing processes, we are aiming to address the important issue of e-waste management with the roll out of STAR program. This initiative reaffirms our commitment towards building awareness for responsible consumption/ waste management practices and ensuring proper end of life treatment to reduce the burden on the planet. Our ability to cover our entire product portfolio makes this more convenient and easier for our consumers," said Mr J S Shin, President & CEO, Samsung South West Asia HQ at the launch of the Samsung STAR program.

Samsung started this program to ware about the importance of recycling e-waste and educating and creating awareness among the consumers. Its a great step in by Samsung to stop and control e-waste in India. As we know that e-waste is increasing very fast in India.
